The centerpiece of our studio is a vintage 1986 SSL 4048E console that was originally commissioned at the famous Village Recorders Los Angeles. This board has an amazing history. The first album it mixed was Talking Heads True Stories and the console also tracked Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Snoops Doggystyle, plus many many more

Pre-Amps

Our recording studio is proud to feature gear that the classics were made with! Everything from EMI solid state and tube pre's to Neve and Telefunken. Our studio also features 10 vintage pre-amps that were originally part of Wally Heider's Studio 4 API console in San Francisco. These pre-amps feature custom wound Reichenbach transformers and have some amazing history. The WH4 desk tracked both Gram Parsons solo records, Fleetwood Mac Rumours, Foo Fighter's S/T, Toadies, Elliott Smith albums plus many many more.
